HGST Ultrastar HE12 HUH721212AL4200 Enterprise Hard Disk Drive Review

HGST Ultrastar HE12 is a 12TB enterprise hard drive built by Hitachi to cater to the high demand of data storage.

The drive uses PMR technology to store data on a disk platter. It is based on 3.5-inch form factor and has two interfaces SATA 6Gbps and SAS 12Gbps.

These Hitachi based hard drives have withstood 1,000 hours with no seal degradation.

The drives have instant secure erase option that deletes data from the disk in an instant and self-encryption facility that allows them to remain safe in case of a theft.

HGST based hard drives have another feature of 4Kn storage capacity. This means users can save data in 4096 byte capacity (4K) blocks.
